I was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1966. While living there I studied education and theatre, and traveled throughout Canada and the US as an athlete with the University of Calgary Mens Volleyball team (we even won a National Championship back in 1989). I moved to Vancouver in 1998 to study acting and discover the meaning of true love. Success! I have worked in film and theatre in various capacities throughout the last 10 years and have been happily married since 2005. Through all of this, I discovered photography as one of the most exciting ways for me to ignite my creative spirit. The focus of my work is primarily on urban landscapes, however, living in Vancouver makes it virtually impossible to overlook the natural beauty that surrounds us. My current camera is a Nikon D80.
About the Work Although I shoot in digital, my goal as a photographer is to remain as true to the captured moment as possible. I enjoy seeking out moments and images that are often on the peripheral of our vision and then bring them into focus. The challenge for me is to not manipulate or 'stage' the environment I shoot in, rather, to discover a fleeting moment or magical opportunity and capture that the best way I can. And sometimes I put no thought into anything at all - I just shoot because that's what I like to do. Cheers.
